Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:
The New Workforce Mandate
A seismic shift is reorganizing the workplace as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) become core business issues. Employees are demanding meaningful change, especially for underrepresented groups, and a growing body of research has shown that adoption of DE&I values is good for the bottom line.
Soledad O’Brien moderates a conversation with Chief Economist Dr. Nela Richardson and Chief Diversity and Talent Officer Bob Lockett, who will speak to the importance of DE&I policies in the workplace.

Addressing and Overcoming
DE&I Fatigue
Diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) have become widespread workforce phenomena, cementing themselves alongside traditional HR and business functions. When executed correctly, DE&I initiatives can change lives, strengthen business relationships and directly impact the bottom line. But for some practitioners, these initiatives can be an exhausting uphill battle. Many DE&I programs fail, making it more difficult for organizations to attract and retain diverse talent. What have organizations been doing wrong – and more importantly – how can they do better?
Join Anita Ricketts, head of strategic partnerships, DiversityInc, and Peter Trevor Wilson, diversity pioneer and creator of Human Equity, as they discuss DE&I fatigue and how to overcome it. You’ll learn about:
- How organizations can make their inclusion efforts sustainable beyond a movement or moment
- How leaders and employees at all levels can contribute to DE&I efforts
- Strategies that organizations can use to embrace equity and inclusion in the workplace and make it easier for employees to perform at their best

Scoring Goals with Team Inclusion for
People with Disabilities
Join us for an intimate discussion between U.S. Paralympian, Noelle Lambert, and Giselle Mota, Chief of Product Inclusion at ADP. It was a moped accident that left Noelle—a NCAA Division 1 lacrosse athlete for UMass Lowell—a different athlete than before. Noelle lost her left leg above the knee, but what she didn’t lose was her fighting spirit. She continued rehabilitation until she could rejoin her team at UMass Lowell and went on to compete at the Tokyo Olympic games in another sport. She’s now made it her mission to help other amputees with her foundation, the Born to Run Foundation, which provides amputees with prosthetics that will give them the ability to run again. Noelle will be interviewed by Giselle Mota, a recent speaker at both TEDx and the DisabilityIN conference who has her own personal stake in disability inclusion which includes her own unseen disability. Giselle and Noelle will explore:
- What disability inclusion means within the greater context of inclusion
- Why it matters so much in the current global climate, and
- Importance for and examples of how to lead and support inclusive teams
